For centuries many cultures have hailed garlic as an aphrodisiac due to its ability to boost blood circulation.garlic uses

– garlic consumption may reduce the risk of developing several types of cancer, especially those associated with the gastrointestinal tract. Both the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in the US and the World Health Organization (WHO) recognize garlic as having potential anticancer properties.

Research scientists at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology found that garlic can act as an antidote to heavy metal poisoning, showing effectiveness in reducing levels of cadmium, arsenic, copper, mercury and lead.

Traditionally, garlic was used to treat both internal and external infections. It was commonly prescribed for internal conditions of the ears, mouth, skin, stomach and throat, and applied externally to treat boils, spots and ulcers.

During the First and Second World Wars garlic was used to treat open wounds, and troops in the trenches relied on garlic as protection against gangrene and as a cure for dysentery. In China and India, garlic has long been recommended for cholera, dysentery and as an antiseptic lotion for washing wounds and ulcers.

– Hippocrates, Galen, Pliny the Elder, and Dioscorides all mention the use of garlic for many conditions, including parasites, respiratory problems, poor digestion, and low energy.

– garlic can work against a variety of bacteria and fungi, including Candida (see further along in this article), Cryptococcus (which causes meningitis), Microsporum (ringworm) and Salmonella.

– Apart from having fewer side effects, garlic’s overwhelming advantage over antibiotics is two- fold. First, it does not create bacterial resistance in the way antibiotics do; there is no evidence that bacteria become so accustomed to garlic that they start to live with it or even on it. Second, garlic has the ability to act on a range of bacterial and fungal infections rather than targeting specific bugs. It does not work as precisely or as quickly as antibiotics, but has a gentle and persistent action on the body. For this reason it is ideally suited to the treatment of infections that are not acute or immediately life threatening.

Garlic oil remedy will generally resolve simple earache (first stages of inflammation) within 24 hours. If the earache persists you should seek professional help — do not delay treatment, especially where children are concerned.

-Some people apply garlic oil to their skin to treat fungal infections, warts, and corns. There is some evidence supporting the topical use of garlic for fungal infections like ringworm, and athlete’s foot; but the effectiveness of garlic against warts and corns is still uncertain.

1. Rich in Disease-Fighting Antioxidants
Pomegranate juice may contain close to three times the antioxidants as green tea or red wine. Antioxidants fight against free radicals — unstable molecules that can damage DNA and cell membranes. This cellular damage has been linked to all kinds of diseases including cancer.

2. Protect Your Heart:
A study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that pomegranate juice combats hardening of the arteries and related diseases like heart attacks and strokes. It seems to limit the genetic tendency toward hardening of the arteries.
“The protective effects of pomegranate juice were higher than previously assumed,” said Claudio Napoli, the study’s author and a professor of medicine and clinical pathology at the University of Naples, Italy.
Another study in the September 16 issue of the Journal of Cardiology found that after patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) drank pomegranate juice every day for three months:
• Blood flow to the heart improved by about 17 percent in the pomegranate group.
• Blood flow declined by 18 percent in the placebo group.
“In conclusion, daily consumption of pomegranate juice may improve stress-induced myocardial ischemia in patients who have CHD,” researchers said.

3. Fight Osteoarthritis:
Pomegranate extract may be useful in fighting osteoarthritis, according to a study at Case Western Reserve University, published in The Journal of Nutrition. In lab tests, the extract:
• Cut levels of an inflammatory chemical called interleukin-1b (IL-1b).
• Stopped enzymes that erode cartilage.
Researchers said their findings “indicate the pomegranate fruit extract or compounds derived from it may inhibit cartilage degradation in osteoarthritis and may also be a useful nutritive supplement for maintaining joint integrity and function.”

4. Keep Prostate Cancer From Returning
A study found that pomegranate juice may help fight the return of prostate cancer among men who have had surgery or radiation for the disease. In fact, among 48 such men who drank 8 ounces of pomegranate juice each day until their prostate cancer progressed:
• The juice significantly lengthened the time it took for the men’s average PSA levels (a gauge of prostate cancer progression) to double.
• None of the men developed cancer that spread beyond the prostate during the study.”Pomegranate juice contains antioxidant chemicals that may have cancer-preventing benefits,” the researchers said.

5. Help Lower Bad Cholesterol
Antioxidants in pomegranates have been found to reduce the oxidation of LDL (bad) cholesterol in mice, according to a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

6. Lower Blood Pressure
A study also found that pomegranates help lower blood pressure among people with hypertension.

One pomegranate has about 40 percent of the recommended daily vitamin C requirement for adults, along with folic acid, fiber, potassium, niacin and vitamins A and E.

Israeli researchers found that pomegranate seed oil causes breast cancer cells to self-destruct, while leaving healthy cells unharmed.

The fruit aggravates Vata dosha and Good to subside Pitta and Kapha Dosha.

Fruit pulp acts on Liver, purifies Blood also. If consumed in excessive amount, the fruit can cause Constipation sometime. But in small quantities is good for your digestive system and digestive fire. Fruit pulp manage your Acidity and gives coolant effects. Wine and Vinegar  is also made from fruit.

Powder of Bark is used in diarrhea. Gargles of Decoction of bark are effective in mouth ulcers. The decoction is used to wash wounds externally. The bark and leaves are used to control Blood pressure.

Uses of Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera gel is used for sunburns, eczema, burns, insect bites, wounds, and for treating fungal infections.

Its anti fungal properties means that it is good for treating acne, athlete’s foot,and mouth sores.  It also aids in the stimulation of cell regeneration. The juice that is gotten from the whole leaf is helpful for healing a number of digestive disorders.

Aloe vera is most well known for its soothing effects on sunburn.  Aloe vera gel is antibacterial and helps to heal the burns. Its stimulates the immune system also.  Pure aloe vera gel can be obtained from health food stores, and there are various products that you can use in the event of a sunburn, such as creams, liquids, ointments, and lotions that all contain aloe vera.  Aloe vera has a moisturising effect.

If you have gotten burnt, bathe as soon as possible and apply the aloe vera product you have chosen to the selected area.  This will help to relieve the pain and inflammation.

On the skin, aloe vera has a number of benefits.  These include:

Generally speaking, aloe vera is safe to use but there may be some side effects.  Long term usage of aloe vera can result in a fluid imbalance in the body, a potassium deficiency, hematuria, and albuminuria.  These are rare side effects, however.  Aloe vera should not be taken or used in the following circumstances:

• by children
• by pregnant women or those attempting to become pregnant
• if you are feeling abdominal pain
• if you are menstruating
• if you are breastfeeding
• if you have inflamed intestinal disease or appendicitis
• if you are taking licorice, diuretics, or corticosteroids
• if you have to take medication that contains cardiac glycosides
• if you have ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease
• if you are taking anti-arrhythmic medication
• if you are having surgery such as a laparotomy
